The Civil Air Patrol is a nonprofit organization for adults and young people interested in aviation. The group is most noted for its search-and-rescue operations, and is the primary agency employed in searches for downed or overdue aircraft and for signals sent out by emergency locator transmitters located on all aircraft. The air patrol also has missions of aerospace education and cadet activities. The Baldwin County Composite Squadron has a cadet component, and is currently having a recruitment drive.
